What happens next
The process is the same for every school, and the portal shows you each stage as you reach it. Most students are through it in a few weeks.
Pick Siem Reap, then what you are applying for. Your name, email, phone number (with country code), whether we should message you on WhatsApp or Telegram, and your country; then choose a username and a 4-digit PIN. It is a small account so you can come back to it on your phone.
Your story, your faith, your health and your church background. Your answers save as a draft, so you can come back any time. DBS, BCS and SMS need a completed DTS first.
Once your application is in, one of our team messages you on WhatsApp or Telegram, whichever you chose. The portal shows where your application is up to the whole way through.
After you apply, the portal lists what to send for your school and ticks each item off as it arrives. International applicants make a leader reference link in the portal and send it to a pastor, church leader or mentor who knows them well; Khmer applicants do not need a reference.
A video call with someone from the school. It is a two-way conversation: we want to know you, and you should be asking us questions too.
The portal tells you the outcome. If you are accepted, welcome: next comes the practical part.
We walk you through fees and how to pay them, the packing list and travel to Siem Reap. If you need a visa, a step-by-step e-visa guide appears in the portal once you are accepted, and we send you a letter of invitation once your flights are confirmed.
We collect you from Siem Reap airport and get you settled on the base.
Staff complete a DTS first, commit for a term and raise their own support; volunteers come for a season, a few weeks to a few months, with no DTS needed. The steps are the same, with a longer conversation for staff.

Staff: your DTS (where and when), your gifts, and the area you hope to serve in. Volunteers: your dates, your skills, and how long you can come. Your answers save as a draft.

A video call with someone from the team, about your calling, the work you would join, and what a term here looks like.
The portal tells you the outcome. Staff agree the length of their term and a plan for raising support; volunteers confirm their dates.
A step-by-step e-visa guide appears in the portal once you are accepted, and we send a letter of invitation once your flights are confirmed. We also talk you through travel to Siem Reap, housing on the base and, for staff, support raising.
Airport pickup, orientation to the base and the city, and you join the team.
Teams stay one to three weeks and work alongside Khmer staff. The team leader applies once for everyone and handles the uploads for the team.
One account for the whole team: pick Siem Reap and Team, then your name, email, phone number (with country code), WhatsApp or Telegram, your country, and a username and 4-digit PIN.
Your church or base, your rough dates, how many are coming and what you hope to do. It saves as a draft, so you can come back to it.
One of our team messages you on WhatsApp or Telegram. We talk through dates, the villages and ministries you would serve in, where you stay and the budget, and confirm we can host you.
The portal lists them once your application is in: passport copies (the photo page of each member), a team photo with each member's name, and flight itineraries. Not booked yet? Upload the flights when you have them; we use them to arrange your transport from the airport.
A video call with someone from the team to settle the plan for the week.
The portal confirms your dates and the team is booked in.
The e-visa guide appears in the portal once you are accepted: Visa E with our letter of invitation, which we send once your flights are confirmed; the Cambodia e-Arrival app, which one phone can complete for the whole team; and what to have printed for the airport.
We collect you from Siem Reap airport, settle you in, and walk through the week together on the first evening.
Everything happens in the GP Portal: your application, your reference, and where it is up to. Our staff also stay in touch on WhatsApp or Telegram along the way.
Tell us where you are and what you are drawn to. We will point you at the right one.
